VIRTUAL DIGS: TO BE A LOVER

In many ways, George Faith‘s 1978 album To Be a Lover is quintessential reggae, since it features the smooth rhythms of legendary producer/arranger Lee Perry. But it also unexpectedly expands the genre’s scope with a tracklist largely comprised of soul, R&B and, in one notable case, teenage pop covers. A clever medley of Wilson Pickett‘s
